Hidden away in some expensive part of Illinois is one very dedicated architect’s attempt at recreating 60’s suburbia. Rows of identical houses line the streets, each with their own manicured lawn and charming paint job.

This surreal little pocket of the world is where I work; down 5th street, past that gorgeous marigold-colored house. Then a left and two streets down and I've made it to work. The local butcher.

Jay's job is simple. Smile and greet customers. Grind the meat. Bag it up. Count down the days until you can see your (married) crush. Repeat.

GET IT JAYYYYYYYY-

Great horror experience! I loved the set up, the art and character designs, and the overall aesthetic- especially the use of red, and especially as the story reached its climax. The little meat grinder mechanic was also just a really nice little touch, giving the player such a limited and repetitive bit of interactivity to really capture the tedium of Jay's job.

This worked really great as a short story but my brain can't help imagining where the story might go from here... I can't help but hope things somehow work out for Tiffany and Jay amidst the crimes xD

also i'm glad that you liked the meat grinder mechanic! shout out to sully for coding that in within the month (my original plan was just to force players to click a button multiple times LMFAOOO)
